The spark for this came from the desperate act of trying to find gifts on black friday.What if I just took a picture what I wanted , posted it to facebook and asked my network of friends to post the stores they found the product. We'd sort by geolocation and price and show the newest location.
Applications may start as blog posts of concepts that interest us, these idea posts may evolve into themes , themes are larger concepts that we choose to look at more closely and develops apps from. One theme you will here about a lot is "template matching", template matching came out of our interest in opencv and using it to do "template matching", template matching is taking a photo and matching it against template images trying to identify a match. An app idea emerging from this is a bug tracker, e.g. take a picture of an insect and match it against a data base of insects.
So the progression is ideas become blog posts, posts grow into themes and themes may eventually end up as applications.
